Dever stuff
I've tried to write this post three times and it keeps switching to russian characters. I don't know why but as a result you only get one hilarious anecdote from Denver. I spent the day with a girl from my dorm and as we were leaving the Capital building we saw a band setting up on the stairs. Our interest piqued we decided to come back and watch them play after a thrilling tour of the mint (it was closed thank god that was Sarah's idea). When we got back there was free food and water and then we realised it must be a rally or a protest or something.I was very excited, i was hoping it would be something highly political and we could try and get on the news if it descended into violence. However when i went to check the poster it turned out it was run by a group called United We Stand. Yes, it was a Christian concert to raise awareness of the fact that "by 2010 only 4% of youth would believe in the bible." I'm not quite sure how 96% of 'youth' can doubt the existence of a book but there you go. We stayed for one song so i could laugh at them and given that half of them played with their backs turned to the 'crowd' (approximately 12 of us) this was fairly easy to achieve.
Inadvertent displays of religiousness aside i thoroughly enjoyed the mile high city. The next time you're in the area I recommend you visit.

Agreed! A country that elects an evangelist for its president hardly has something to be concerned about.
Haha, nothing like a good morally-correct-and-in-no-way-rockin' sing along...
I swear I'll email you soon, but reading this blog feels like we've spoken already. Which is just me being slack.

Hello Liz
Sorry for hurried phone call before Bridge Climb but after getting there early - we almost missed the call! We had a great time and of course bought the photos to prove it. Sydney looked great from the top of the Harbour Bridge we had a beautiful clear day where you could see all the way to the Blue Mountains - Gen and I realise we are both not afraid of heights as we crossed the open mesh floored path above the busy traffic on the bridge 125m below us. Gen had happy birthday sung by the group on top of the bridge as I had told the guide this was a surprise early birthday present for her. We both loved Sydney and had a lovely room with a picture window looking out across the harbour - the Opera House and Bridge at night must be one of the prettiest city scenes around.
Your train travels sound amazing - you will have great experiences to compare after training in Europe and China and Russia by the time you get home.
By the way who is LL?
Love Mum

Yeah, was thinking about you today Liz as I was "scoopin' cream" (as Harry would say), in the heart of Freo. You being an Eagles suporter and all. Everything was purple and I had to resist the urge not to splatter icecream across the windows of tooting cars (the first 20 or so I didn't mind, but that quickly wore off.) I felt kind of bad for eagles fans though - one man even hid his scarf because he kept getting booed! Then again you sound like you are having a wicked time so maybe the loss isn't so great.
But I'm ranting - too lazy to write an email because I figure I'll be seeing you pretty soon, too lazy to go to bed even. I'm trying not to notice my life for the next two weeks because I am so sick of icecream and so excited about leaving. Yay!
It'll be so good to hang out with you and bonnie - I've missed you both!
Not looking forward to being interrogated at Heathrow though.
I have decided that we should go to Perth while we are in scotland - for the sake of it. See if it is bigger or smaller, cooler or quainter than the Austrtalian one. What do you think?
Oooh - and my books getting published! It's V.exciting, but I suppose I can tell you about it when I see you. But I wish you were her for celebratory drinks. I guess we'll do them again in london eh?
o.k better go to bed...
